You Can't Lead People You Don't Understand

It Started with Understanding Myself

The first DISC profile I ever read was my own.

For the first time, I had a clear picture of how I'm wired β€” how I communicate, what drives me, how I process decisions. But it also showed me something I wasn't expecting: how other people experience me. Why my style resonated with some people and landed completely differently with others. It revealed blind spots I didn't know were there.

That was the moment it clicked. If I didn't have that kind of clarity about myself, how could any leader? And if one profile could shift my own self-awareness that much, imagine what it could do for an entire team.

That's why I do this work. Not because teams are broken β€” but because most leaders have never been given a real window into how their people are wired. They're making decisions about communication, management, and motivation based on instinct when they could be working from insight.

What I've Learned About Teams

Every person on your team processes information differently, handles stress differently, and needs to hear things differently. That's not a problem β€” it's just reality. The problem is when leaders don't have visibility into those differences and end up managing everyone the same way.

DISC gives you that visibility. Think of it as a crystal ball for leadership. Once you see how each person is wired, you stop guessing and start communicating with intention. The frustration drops. The collaboration picks up. And the people who felt invisible start showing up differently.

It works whether your team is in trouble or already doing well β€” because every team has a next level, and it starts with understanding.

Who This Is For

I work with individual leaders and teams in small to mid-sized businesses β€” from one-on-one coaching to leadership teams, department groups, and cross-functional teams going through growth or change. Whether we’re in the same room or working virtually, the process works the same way.

Some are dealing with friction they can’t quite solve. Some are already strong and want to get stronger. The common thread is a leader who knows their people are the business β€” and is willing to invest in understanding them better.

If that sounds like you, we should talk.
